Physical

Physical well-being is the practice of caring for your body by noticing what feels good, brings you energy, and helps you feel grounded in the moment.

Physical Wellbeing

Caring for your body is an ongoing process about developing practices to support your overall health and well-being, for today and for your future self. Some days your body may need rest, while other days it craves movement. It is also about being mindful of your sexual health and making choices that feel safe and right for you. The key is to listen to what your body needs and be kind to yourself when things do not go as planned.

Elements in Action

Care for your body.

Prioritize getting adequate sleep.

Choose healthy foods.

Make time for regular movement that is enjoyable.

Engage in safer sex practices.

Explore club sports or a fitness class at WoodPEC.

Schedule regular preventative care appointments.

If you choose to use substances, use them in moderation.

Notice how alcohol, cannabis, and other substances impact your body.

Self Reflection

Take a moment to check in on your physical well-being by rating yourself in the areas below:

I regularly get at least 7 hours of sleep at night.
I engage in a few hours of moderately vigorous physical activity or movement (e.g. walking, gardening, dancing, etc.) every week.
I do muscular, strength, or endurance training at least twice a week.
I stay hydrated throughout the day.
I eat a well-balanced and nutritious diet.
I go to regular health related check-ups (annual physical, eye, dental).
If at all, I use alcohol or recreational drugs responsibly and moderately.
If I engage in any sexual activity, I check in with my mind and body to gauge pleasure and safety.
