Adjudications of hazing or hazing-related convictions.

In compliance with the Georgia SB 85 "Max Gruver Act", beginning July 1, 2021, Emory University will publicly disclose administrative adjudications of hazing or hazing-related convictions. This information will be posted within 15 calendar days of final adjudication or public notice of conviction and remain posted for a period of not less than five years.

Campus Hazing Transparency Report

On December 23, 2024, President Biden signed into law the Stop Campus Hazing Act, which added hazing as a Clery reportable crime. In addition to providing crime statistics for hazing, Emory is required to publish a biannual campus hazing transparency report.

Kappa Sigma (Alpha Chapter)

Incident Dates: January 17, 2026, and January 25, 2026
Decision Date: May 1, 2026

  2. Loss of university recognition and chapter housing privileges during suspension
  3. Prohibition on chapter operations and successor ("underground") activities during suspension
  4. Petition-based reinstatement process beginning no earlier than May 31, 2029
  5. Conditional reinstatement, if approved, including enhanced supervision by the Office of Community Standards and Education (OCSE) and the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life (OSFL)
  6. Mandatory chapter reform, hazing prevention education, leadership training, revised new member education program, and ongoing compliance monitoring following reinstatement

  5. Chapter-wide mandatory hazing prevention education completed by June 4, 2026
  6. Executive board training over hazing prevention and group dynamics completed by October 7, 2026
  7. Revised new member education plan completed by October 7, 2026
  8. Completion of outstanding prior outcomes by September 15, 2026
  9. Accountability check in meeting w/ OCSE and OSFL completed by October 22, 2026, and March 12, 2027.
  10. Reintegration meeting prior to reinstatement. The chapter must coordinate this meeting during the Fall 2028 semester; must take place by September 15, 2028.
Alpha Kappa Psi

  4. Executive Board Training: Hazing Prevention and Group Dynamics by April 30, 2026.
  5. New member educaiton process redesign plan (PRP) by April 30, 2026.
  6. Follow-up meeting w/ OCSE and SILT (mid-semester Chapter Leadership Compliance check-in) starting October 2026 and March 2027.

  3. Three-part hazing education series on anti-hazing policy, power dynamics and coercion, and strategies for rebuilding chapter culture; complete by February 28, 2026.
  4. Executive board leadership training by February 28, 2026.
  5. Revised new member education play by March 1, 2026.
  6. Social event risk mitigation plan by March 15, 2026.
  7. Monthly accountability check-in meetings.
  8. Reintegration meeting prior to reinstatement. The chapter must coordinate this meeting during the Spring 2028 semester; must take place by May 1, 2028.
Kappa Alpha Order (Epsilon Chapter)

  3. Revised new member education plan with nation office review and OSFL approval by September 12, 2025.
  4. Monthly accountability check-in meetings with OSC and OSFL through December 2025.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
